Unions Back Weir Recall

Posted by: An Insider | 08/07/2008 7:44 PM

The recall being orchestrated against City of Bakersfield councilman Ken Weir is funded by public employee unions and their representatives, such as Chuck Waide of the SEIU,  per recent campaign statements.

Let's see....the largest single contribution is from the police officers' PAC in the amount of $7,500.  Gee, I didn't know the rank and file police officers were so environmentally concerned with the "Hillside Ordinance" and the resulting governmental taking of private property.

Oddly, the recall organizer "Reverend" Winn told the newspaper that no unions were involved in the recall.  He, also, promised that the recall would not result in the need for an expensive special election.  Oops, public employee unions are involved and an expensive special election will be necessary.

"The Lord works in mysterious ways"!! Some reverends do mysterious
things too. I'm sure the Reverend will be honest enough to get out
of this recall now!? We don't need any more embarrassment for the
Lord or us!!
