Chad Vegas to Run for Re-Election

The much-anticipated decision by Kern County's most outspoken elected official has finally been made. Chad Vegas will be announcing this week that he has decided to run for for his second term on the Kern High School District Board of Trustees.
For those of you who don't know Chad, a pastor in his day job, he is routinely described by the local newspaper as "controversial", "ultra-conservative" and other more derogatory terms slamming his propensity for supporting outrageous things like, oh say, the National Motto ("In God We Trust"), pesky "standards" in education, marriages where there is just one guy and then one girl involved and the especially ridiculous-- calling Christmas and Easter breaks by the super-weird names "Christmas" and "Easter" as opposed to the liberal-approved "Winter" and "Spring" breaks.
Chad did not come to his decision lightly--he and his family and friends (gasp) prayed about the decision for a long time before being assured that his tenure on the school board was where he should be to affect the lives of young people (he was once both a high school teacher and a youth pastor) and to effectively irritate the liberals throughout Kern County, I mean to effectively espouse conservative principles both in education and in our community. Same thing.
As a political consultant for his effort and a friend as well, I look forward to the next wave of Chad to ripple throughout the central valley...

I was a student under chad vegas's term on the school board. I can say, without doubt or reservation, that my education suffered because of this.
