This can be considered an admission of guilt by JCCC leaders; summary by Kaw and Border

At JCCC, President Terry Calaway and Board Chair Shirley Brown-VanArsdale wanted to have a secretive, pre-determined process by which JCCC would hire the college attorney.  I have worked for the last few weeks to bring sunshine to this closed process, and apparently something gave over the weekend.

While they are still entirely unwilling to defend their recent actions in public, they now want a do-over.

Kaw and Border:

Essentially, due to Hodge's involvement and questioning over the entire process leading up to the bid for legal services, the board decided to punt for now and move the issue until the next board could convene next month. That board will not include it's current Chair, Shirley Brown-VanArsdale, nor Ben Hodge. How convenient!

There are lots of laughable, if not interesting, aspects to this story, including the fact that tonight's "special meeting" was not going to have video coverage until Hodge got involved.

What's clear to anyone who has followed this story is that it is through Hodge's efforts that this meeting was delayed and that the entire sham hiring process was brought to light in the first place. As this blog discussed Friday, it is clear that the board is simply trying to run out the clock until Hodge is gone.
