Updating on the post by S. Michael below, I am hearing that Rep. Mike Turner (who will forever be known as My Mayor) may also receive a challenge from County Commissioner Dan Foley. Currently, Dan is the president of the commission and has been serving the county since January of 2007. Before that, he was Assistant Treasurer for taxpayer service and was a former Staff Assistant to Rep. Tony P. Hall. My source tells me that Foley will wait until 2012, but he has already started what looks like a strategy to raise his name ID across the district with his involvement in various regionalism efforts. One name that I haven't heard yet that I really thought I would is David Esrati. Esrati has angered the Democrat establishment in Montgomery County over the years, but a party that has thrown Jane Mitakides at Mike Turner not once but twice could do worse and probably will. I will agree with Michael on one thing: Jane Mitakides is a tired candidate. If she was ever going to win, it would have been with Obama at the top of the ticket.
