What have I learned?
Yesterday, we covered a shocking failure on the part of Ohio Senate to pass a piece of legislation that sailed through the Ohio House which would have protected senior citizens living in assisted care facilities.
At the conclusion of the piece, I indicated that I had contacted some of the key players via email and would report back on my findings... I want to thank the office of State Senator Tim Grendell for responding to my inquiry.
Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky of IIllinois has been a name frequently associated with the Blagojevich story and is said to have thrown her hat into the ring for President-Elect Barack Obama's now-vacated US Senate seat.

Butler County is blessed with our own version of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. His name is Richard Jones and he is larger than life. He's made illegal immigration his key issue and he made headlines when he criticized John McCain for his position on amnesty.
But has he gone too far this time? He's ordered his deputies to ignore court ordered evictions because it is winter time and that would be a "heartless" thing to do. That is kind of a bizarre position for a lawman to take...
In the battleground state of Ohio, I have something of a reputation as being the guy who tries to keep our guys honest. The "insiders" don't quite frame it that way, of course, but I have always thought of myself as something of a sentinel when it comes to my focus on Republicans.
So when I see Republicans talking about regional diversity being a factor in the race for RNC Chair, I start asking questions.
I understand what he's trying to do in the piece, but I really think it is a waste of time and effort. Here's why...
Here in the Great State of Ohio, our deputy chairman (soon to be chairman) of the state party made an "inartful" statement that was taken slightly out of context by the media and then blown out of proportion by the local social conservative groups.
The problem is that Kevin DeWine is right and these so-called grassroots groups are misreading the political climate.

This blogger stands with Republican Leader, my Congressman and a Great American -- John Boehner -- against Rep. Lungren, who is a long shot at best.
Will Lungren throw a whole bunch of mud at Boehner? We shall see who has the best interests of the party, the conference and the conservative movement at heart!
It's time!
