When called upon, Mitt Romney helped save the Olympics, but President Obama took it upon himself to "Go get the Olympics!"   Was he "getting" the Olympics for the United States or for Chicago? 

Well, as Shakespeare once said, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark."  

The First Lady of the United States stated that were going to "Take no prisoners!"  

This was to be the public victory that President Obama needed, and he needed it badly.  It failed miserably and the American people will watch the Olympics from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  The President did not even garner a silver or bronze medal with this attempt. 

The embarrasing aspect of this failed bid was that we, as a country, failed to even cross the finish line.   

What was the cost of this failed bid?  How about over one million dollars to the American taxpayer at a time when many Americans are just trying to make ends meet with their family budgets.   Where was all of the good will that our new leader has created? 

Was it also visible when our new message of strength against the dangers of nuclear proliferation was being delivered by a different leader to Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of France? 

 I wish that he had put such a Herculean effort in meeting with our combat General in the Middle East.  Oh wait, he did take twenty-five minutes to speak with General McChrystal aboard Air Force One prior to taking off from Denmark.  Why not visit the General and the troops in Afganistan, where they are making the ultimate sacrifice? 

 What will be your next Olympic-sized attempt Mr. President?
