MSM Gives Frank Schubert and Jeff Flint Some Ink!

By Sgt. York | 11/06/09

Yes, THAT Jeff Flint! The founder of Red County Placer... you see, Jeff is a partner in the leading political consulting firm in America defending family values. The MSM gives Schubert-Flint PA (the 2009 Winner of some consultant award - the equivalent of the MVP in Baseball, though) some grudging praise. Their article points out repeatedly that people really believe in Gay marriage until Frank Schubert figured out in some right-wing focus... read more »

Meg Whitman... Amnesty for 12 Million Illegal Immigrants? (UPDATED 10/31)

By Sgt. York | 10/29/09

UPDATE - A Blog in San Ysidro has picked up the story - venting anger over being sold out by the GOP again. Moderates like Meg Whitman alienate the base - Meg, like Arnold seems to be running the same "Join Us or Clear Off" campaign that Arnold did in 2003. The blog links the same story in signon San Diego - but the anger is real. You have to look at this and ask if Meg is really the middle-of-the-road unifier she wants us to believe... read more »

Meg Whitman Assailed For Lying in Radio Ads (While dodging tonight's debate)

By Sgt. York | 10/28/09

Meg Whitman was lit up by the LA Times tonight for inaccurate and misleading radio ads about the state budget. (Meg Whitman's Radio Whoppers) The article quotes Republicans in it to assure balance - but it raises an even larger question - if Whitman can not get the facts straight with a script, how can she Govern? And, it makes sense that she is avoiding debates - either she is lying or she has not had enough time to study. Meantime,... read more »

Meg Whitman Endorsement Watch: Republicans for Obama Speak Out

By Sgt. York | 10/27/09

Barak Obama's Republican supporters have spoken, Whitman is their candidate. Richard Riordan Endorses Barak Obama and Meg Whitman. Nice. That Glass house is getting decimated. The New Majority is the only debate Whitman is participating in (where she has a friendly audience) and their poster-child candidate from a few years ago was Christci Cristich - Orange County Chairwoman of Republicans for Clinton. Riordan said this about Obama:... read more »

AD72 - Thoughts from a NorCal Observer (McClintock's Endorsement of Chris Norby)

By Sgt. York | 10/27/09

I have watched the blog wars - dirty media stories and lots of commentary about I.E.'s This race reminds me of Doug Ose Vs. Tom McClintock up in my neck of the woods. McClintock won 54-39 despite $7.9 million spent by Ose. Like Ackermen, Ose had the ensconsed establishment almost 100% behind him. And, like Ackerman, Ose had the "business interests" dumping wads into an I.E. And, like Norby - when McClintock accepted a... read more »

AD05 Update - Pugno bags Gaines, Runner, Former Mayor of Folsom (and $$$)

By Sgt. York | 10/24/09

Andy Pugno is the prohibitive favorite in AD05. Andy has already gained the endorsement of AD03 Assemblymember Dan Logue. In addition, former AD05 member Anthony Peschetti endorsed early. However, former AD05 Assemblymember Barbara Alby and sitting AD04 Assemblymember Ted Gaines have added their names to the Pugno bandwagon. These are significant as adjacent districts are lining up behind Pugno. Roger Niello historically never endorses, or... read more »

Meg Whitman's North State Supporters Tell Us Volumes About Her

By Sgt. York | 10/24/09

Recently, Meg Whitman rolled out the endorsements of several current and former County Supervisors. Among them was Former Supervisor Sue Horne from Nevada County and Current Supervisor Steve Lambert of Butte County. Lambert and Horne have a few things in common - the grassroots don't like them, they both voted to raise taxes many times and David Reade. Yes, that David Reade - the campaign manager for Doug LaMalfa / Cheif of Staff for... read more »

Jerry Brown was a Talk Jock? Yes and he was and is a wackjob...

By Sgt. York | 10/21/09

Al Franken and Jeanine Garafolo(sp) would be impressed... what is scary is what Jerry Brown had to say when he was in between stints of screwing California. The genesis of today's problems took root in the Brown Governorship of the 1970's - terminating Freeway Projects, Stopping Dam Construction, Shutting off Natural Gas and Oil Wells, the ban on Nuclear and Coal power plants... Interestingly enough - in the middle of Jerry Brown's... read more »

Jim Nielsen for Assembly Leader? What did Meg forget to Mention in Her Updates/Website?

By Sgt. York | 10/18/09

Quick note - in a comment on another Post, Matthew Cunningham indicated that he sat down with Whitman for 1/2 hour (with interruptions). It should be interesting to read his breakdown and hopefully to hear some sound. I have gotten recent reports that Meg Whitman has praised the Cap and Trade bill 'as the right thing to do'... (is that different than being a Huge Fan?) on a talk show. Given her other comments - the Cap and Trade comments... read more »

PCWA Member Ben Mavy Gets "Scolded" for Asking Budget Questions

By Sgt. York | 10/18/09

Below is an email in its' entirety that pretty much says it all. Note that Ben Mavy is 20 years or more younger than the other board members. I think it is time for a house-cleaning... Hi, Last year the Placer County Water Agency board of directors was curious about the agency’s impact on the environment, so they spent nearly a quarter million dollars on a study to find out what the agency’s carbon footprint is.  For those not... read more »
